Products that work well together

White laundry only

A powder cleaner for white laundry.

The first checks when choosing this product are that the laundry is white and that the fabric type is suitable. Washing Power's area of use is not all laundry. It should not be used on coloureds, and it should not be chosen for wool, silk or leather. Checking the instructions on the garment's own care label is part of the application too.

You can choose one of two methods: machine washing together with your normal detergent, or soaking before the wash. In the method made up with water, check the amount, the temperature and the time together. Once you have prepared suitable white laundry, get the measure right; if you have chosen soaking, finish with a wash or a thorough rinse.

For white laundry only

It is not used on coloured laundry. Even if the fabric is white, do not apply it to wool, silk or leather. Check the fabric and the care label before use.

In the machine or by soaking

In the machine, use one scoop together with your normal detergent. To soak, dissolve one scoop of product in four litres of water. Choose the method that suits the fabric's care conditions; you do not need to soak before every machine wash.

When soaking: no more than 40°C and 6 hours

The soaking water must not exceed 40°C and the soaking time must not exceed six hours. If the fabric's care label calls for a lower temperature, keep to that limit. Finish by machine washing or rinsing thoroughly with clean water.

How to apply it

Check the fabric, then choose one of the methods

Use it only on suitable white laundry, and read the garment's care label before you start.

  1. Check suitability

Separate coloured laundry. Do not use it on wool, silk or leather. Make sure the fabric's own washing instructions allow the method you have chosen.

  2. The machine option

If you choose the machine method, wash with one scoop of Washing Power added to the detergent compartment along with your normal detergent. A tip: check the pack instructions for the product you use with it as well.

  3. The soaking option

If you choose soaking, dissolve one scoop of product thoroughly in four litres of water. The water temperature must be no more than 40°C. Leave the white laundry in the water you have prepared for no longer than six hours.

  4. Finish with a wash or rinse

After soaking, machine wash the laundry or rinse it thoroughly with clean water. Do not skip the rinse with clean water after washing or soaking.

Six hours is an upper limit, not a minimum soaking time. Use the scoop described on your pack for measuring; do not convert to grams yourself using a different measure such as a kitchen spoon.

Amount and limits by method

After soaking, machine wash or rinse thoroughly with clean water. If the garment's care instructions call for a lower temperature, take that limit into account too.

Choosing a product

Frequently asked questions.

Can I use it on coloured laundry?

No. This product is for white laundry only. Do not treat a light-coloured garment as white simply because it is pale. When choosing the product, check the fabric type and care label as well as the colour; choose a different, suitable product for coloured garments.

Can it be used on white wool or silk?

No. Do not use it on wool, silk or leather. The fabric being white does not change this restriction. When choosing the product, look at the fabric type as well as the colour; if the care label does not allow the washing or soaking method you have chosen, use a different care method.

Do I have to soak the laundry for six hours?

Six hours is the longest soaking time given; it is not a fixed period to be completed every time. Do not exceed this limit. The water must also be no more than 40°C. After soaking, wash the laundry or rinse it thoroughly with clean water.

Can I make it up with boiling water?

No. The soaking water must be no more than 40°C; do not use boiling water. Dissolve one scoop of product thoroughly in four litres of water at a suitable temperature. If the garment's care label calls for a lower temperature, plan the treatment with that in mind.

Can I measure it with a kitchen spoon?

Go by the scoop described on your pack. Because kitchen spoons vary in size, do not treat a spoonful as equal to the product scoop. 510 g is the pack's net quantity; it should not be used as a weight measure for one scoop or one spoonful.

Is it used instead of normal detergent?

In the machine method, use one scoop together with your normal detergent. Treat Washing Power as a stain-treatment product separate from the main washing detergent. A tip: check both products' pack instructions before you start, and do not make up other mixtures outside their own instructions.
